Davisburg UMC Prayer Ministry
Davisburg United Methodist Church is a praying church. We pray for our community and our family of faith regularly, as well as our government at all levels, and our schools. We are committed to uplifting those in our midst in prayer to our Heavenly Father.
Praying With Purpose
Thoughts On Prayer
Take steps of faith and believe whom God is and what God has done for you (us). Follow the guidelines of the Lord’s Prayer and know that God will never leave you or forsake you and that God is with you, sometimes carrying you through the difficult, shadow of death, moments of life.
A.C.T.S. is simply Adoration, Confession, Thanks and Supplication.
Giving glory to God, acknowledging who He is and what He has done.
(I.E. - Almighty, Creator, Healer, Provider)
Admitting your sins, and speaking them out loud to God.
(I.E. – “I am a sinner, I have fallen or failed “here” or “here”)
Showing appreciation for all God has done, personally, in community, nationally and globally.
Asking God for your needs and desires.
Believing God can bring them to pass according to His will.
Prayer (Matthew 6:5-14)
“And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by others.
Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full.
But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.
And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words.
Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him.
“This, then, is how you should pray:
‘Our Father in heaven, Come boldly before the throne of grace with a solemn address
Hallowed be your name, God is glorified in all His perfections
Your kingdom come, The Kingdom of God is at hand
Your will be done, Align our will, submit ourselves and ask that God’s way triumphs
On earth as it is in heaven. In our lives each day as it is throughout Heaven
Give us today our daily bread. We need God in all areas of our lives – A daily need
And forgive us our debts, Our punishment for sin may be cancelled, we don’t come into condemnation
As we also have forgiven our debtors. We must forgive the wrongs of others against us
And lead us not into temptation, Whenever we are tempted, help us, give us a way out from it
But deliver us from the evil one.’ Deliver us from ourselves, our own evil hearts: from evil men: from sin
For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.
But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.
